⌛VERTIGO OF THE WEEK
You can’t escape it.
Saudi arabia just released news of their new 370 meter-high football stadium established in THE LINE, their 170km utopia currently being built in the desert.

Megacities are cities over 10 million people.
There are 44 of them today.
Combined, they will soon aggregate 1 billion people.
There will be around 70 of them by 2050.
And 70% of world population will live in cities by then.
Delhi might become the largest megacity in the world in 2050, with a population of nearly 47 million.
Of the 230 countries of the world, currently only 30 of them host more inhabitants than that!
And concentration accelerates.
By end of the century this video foresees monsters of 80M€ inhabitants. As of today only 15 countries have more than 80M inhabitants.
Do you believe in a future where the 5 biggest cities would combine 370M people?
That’s bigger than each of the countries in the world today (except india an china)
Will mayors have the power of head of states?
I read about Lagos adding 6000 new inhabitants per day.
It’s basically my whole town, moving in, every 24 hours!!!
This urban part of the world will be increasingly exposed to density, noise and digital stimulation.
2 years ago my family left Barcelona for a village in Italy.
The reaction was almost unanimous “you are gonna lose the tremendous cultural offer!” “It’s gonna be hard to readjust, everything was accessible and easy, you are gonna be isolated”
Turns out… we were lucky to get to a place where a 7000 people community offers cultural activities AND the slower pace AND the nature in abondance.
💡 Will concentration of population allow us to maintain an appropriate way of life? Will we still connect with nature as we should?
💚 EMOHACKS
What can you do about it?
First hack: VUCA and the 5 dimensions of health
In our chaotic world, in our chaotic urban lives, our activities face Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity (VUCA).
We're in constant flux, adjusting our actions to match reality. 🌀
As VUCA managers, we crave stability and peace.
But remember: peace is not the absence of conflict.
Just as health is not the absence of disease.
WHO defines health across five dimensions: physical, mental, social, spiritual, and planetary. 🌍🧠🫶
Apply this to you and your team with these questions:
1️⃣ Is your environment psychologically secure?
2️⃣ Is physical safety absolutely guaranteed?
3️⃣ Are there robust social interactions and learning opportunities?
4️⃣ Does each member have a clear sense of purpose and role?
5️⃣ Is there room for personal growth? (avoiding “bullshit jobs”)
Second hack : 5 ways to wellbeing
The Five Ways to Wellbeing framework, developed by the New Economics Foundation (NEF) in 2008, is based on extensive research. These five actions are designed to promote mental health and well-being. 🌿💡
Look at them. Ask yourself these three questions:
what has been missing this week?🤔
can I do it today still?🕒
what’s the one thing I can do right now in the next minute to make sure it’s done?⏳
And act. For example, if you have not CONNECTED (path 1), copy and paste this message and send it to a friend:
Third hack: FISH
The 4 most powerful FISH?
🌳 Nature
🌬️ Breathing
📵 Disconnection
💤 Sleep
Don’t fall for sophistication. 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵 🐟

Fourth hack: Moments, not minutes
Research highlights the immense benefits of nature immersion.
Different types of walks will transform your mental state.
While a 30-minute nature dive is a cortisol reducer and has demonstrated effect on stress levels drop, University of Derby states a 2.5-hour wellness walk has overall well-being improvement.
My favorite one?
The 2021 study “Moments, not minutes” states “time in nature is not the main predictive nature-related factor for wellbeing. Rather, nature connectedness and engaging with nature through simple activities (e.g., smelling flowers) consistently emerged as being the significant factor in […] (improving) mental health and wellbeing. “
Real connection.
Simple activities.
A few minutes can do the tricks if there’s a real MOMENT.
💡 Summer challenge: cut your running time by 15 minutes to pause and sit in the woods without headphones. Just immerge. Contemplate. Listen.
⚖️COACHING STORIES
💡 Confidentiality is one of the two pillars of my coaching. I elaborate coaching stories to reflect changes that happened during sessions. Names and contextual elements are changed to guarantee anonymity.
What better way to share coaching experience than the words of people who benefit from it.
